Benedict XVI encourages reading the Bible on vacation
In the first hearing audience from the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo Benedict XVI spoke to the faithful of concrete spiritual and practical aspects of the summer holidays. Drawing on his last catechesis on prayer he said the vacation period is a time of contemplation, meditation, calm, because man is made not only to work but also to think and reflect, to immerse himself in a story and emerge enriched. The Pope suggested believers read a few of the lesser known books of the Bible this summer.
